FAI and Noosphere Ventures decided to sign an official agreement on collaboration. In February this year, Max Polyakov, Head of FAI Fritz Brink and another FAI representative Susanne Schödel agreed to engage in strategic partner relationships that will promote the digitalization of FAI’s events. Noosphere Ventures objective in this partnership would be developing software that will ease data management, operations and result scoring for air competitions.
Max Polyakov, who in many ways inspired the agreement, has stated that they are all more than thrilled to be able to bring tech innovations into the sphere of sports and to be part of the process of digitizing the entire industry.
Noosphere Ventures has presented the first fruit of their joint efforts at this year’s World Games 2017 held in Wroclaw. The newly designed software solution called Cup Navigator aided the process of scoring the event, helped the judges and their assistants to record results with more ease and speed, and subsequently manage the data with more precision. Max Polyakov was proud to see that the software was working flawlessly. It is now expected that Cup Navigator will be used in other upcoming FAI tournaments.
The air sports competitions are constantly facing scoring ambiguity and rising concerns among athletes. It is indeed much harder to make accurate measurements while the airplane or a glide is in the air – something many judges are struggling with. Noosphere Ventures is trying to solve these problems by developing software that will allow for much more accurate scoring and faster operational management of events.
Max Polyakov, founder of  Noosphere Ventures and his other colleagues have shared their hopes on expanding the existing partnership with FAI. Their first collaboration efforts date back to 2013, and today they are doing a lot of common work to be able to come up with digital solutions for other air sports like ballooning and paramotoring. They hope to be able to do so in a few years from now.
Another successful endeavor of Noosphere Ventures was the renovation of FAI’s website. The new version is much more user-friendly and intuitive, has much more demanded content like athletes’ stories of success, event calendars and educational materials.
It was understandably pleasant to hear that the participants of this year’s World Games were happy with the new scoring results. They have shared the opinion that it was much better than the previous years. Everybody at FAI and Noosphere Ventures, including Max Polyakov, hope that this will increase the attendance of competitive air sports events and make them more attractive for future athletes-to-be as well.

In their continuous efforts to digitalize the sports industry, Noosphere Ventures organize hackathons and challenges to attract young talents to the process of technological innovation. One of such hackathons organized with the support of Max Polyakov was aimed at inventing new and better software to score ballooning events. The winners of the hackathon will be delighted to present the results for their work and test their software at the upcoming ballooning championships of FAI.
